Shenzhen Tourism College

With over a hundred years of history and academic achievements, Jinan University is one of China’s key universities listed in “Project 211”. As one of its four campuses, Shenzhen Tourism College of Jinan University (SZTC) is situated in the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town (OCT), a well-known resort. Located at the foot of a hill, SZTC is surrounded by trees and nature. It is the first tourism college in the Chinese mainland with education quality accredited by the World Tourism Organization.

SZTC strives to cultivate complex talents that are highly innovative and possess the ability to apply the basic principles acquired through learning to practice and research by providing competitive faculty as well as field practice bases. The field practice bases consist mainly of three sectors including theme parks managed by the OCT Group such as Happy Valley, Window of the World, China Folk Culture Villages along with Splendid China, a number of star-ranked hotels represented by the Crowne Plaza Hotel and several well-known enterprises.

SZTC maintains a Tourism Management Department, an English Department as well as a Research and Development Center for Tourism. The college offers three undergraduate majors as the Tourism Management major, the Business English major and the E-commerce major. The Tourism Management major, which possesses the Master’s degree empowerment, has several pathways including Hospitality and MICE, Golf and Leisure Management as well as Landscape Design & Planning. Collaborated with the main campus of Jinan University in Guangzhou, SZTC undertakes not only postgraduate but also doctoral education programs. Its BA program in Tourism Management was designated a key higher education program of Guangdong province. And the Research and Development Center for Tourism is a provincial exemplary center for education.

SZTC attaches great importance to research projects and academic exchange projects. The College has established partnerships with Brigham Young University in Hawaii, Elmwood College in Scotland as well as the Hospitality and Tourism Management School of Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The enrollment of SZTC is part of the overall enrollment of Jinan University. The College enrolls applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other countries and regions in the world.
